Northern Plains Indian Artist Residency

The Northern Plains Indian Artist Residency (NPIAR) program supports emerging and mid-career Native artists to integrate new media, methodologies or technologies with traditional Native arts practices, history and culture.

Residency Stipends Package

The residency includes a generous stipend package, including:

  • $3,000 living stipend
  • $3,000 materials stipend
  • $3,000 technology stipend
  • Free  lodging
  • Use of the art department's facilities

Eligibility

Artists who are registered members of a tribe in the Northern Plains region are eligible to apply.

To apply for the NPIAR program, provide the following:

  • Application form
  • Digital portfolio with corresponding images list
  • Statement of intent
  • Resume or CV
  • References

Applications must be postmarked by April 6
